Written by Terence While running a course at the Royal School of Military Engineering RSME in Chatham, I changed the scale of the major exercise which had been running for some years. It had been called 'El Poros' covered engineering works for 2 Army groups. I reckoned that we needed to prepare for a smaller operation, about the size of a well supported Brigade Group. I called it "Bere Bones" and reckoned it would be protecting our interests, in the Middle East. This was a few years before the 'Gulf War'
